Dear Members:
2020 has almost passed and not any too soon. We all have been patiently waiting for 2021 to begin.
At the end of the year we would like to thank our trustees that have worked hard, especially this year and finished their terms working to keep QSC going. Board members who have left at the end of 2020 are Chuck and Dale Farrar and Kathy Conerty. I would like to welcome new Board members Ginny Besthoff, Scott Rishell, and Joan Durett.
I would like to give a big thank you to Ann Kokosa, past president of the Board of Trustees for her hard work this past year through the pandemic closing and all the changes we had here at QSC.
I would also like to thank our members for their patience and under-standing this year with all the changes at QSC. In 2021, as President of the Board of Trustees, the trustees and members of QSC we will be working together to get QSC back in full operation. Our QSC family will be stronger again.
I am looking forward to working with all of you and best wishes for a
Happy and Healthy New Year.
Judy Guay, President 2021

Happy New Year QSC Members, Board of Trustees, and
Friends!
It is with joy and gratitude that I have begun my journey
with this amazing organization. I am very appreciative of
the opportunity that the Board of Trustees has entrusted
me with and I am excited to start working with all of
you. In December I was fortunate to be able to meet so
many members and look forward to meeting more!
2020 was a year that brought about many unexpected
changes in our lives and to QSC. We look to 2021 with
HOPE. At QSC we are working on creative ways to
bring activities to you using a computer program called
“Zoom.” We will be offering training sessions at QSC as
well as some classes to trial this program format. The
possibilities are endless and I can’t wait for you to share
your ideas with me.
Cheers to a New Year, new friends
and new beginnings.
Wishing you a healthy and happy
2021!
Warm Regards,
Michelle
A Heartfelt Thanks to the QSC
We received this lovely note from a former 2012 scholarship recipient
and wanted to share:
“I came across the Queensbury Senior Citizens page this afternoon and remembered that many years ago I received a
scholarship from your group. I have been feeling very grateful for every person and organization that helped me
work towards my career goals over the past years. I received the award in 2012 when I graduated high school, I
graduated four years later as Class President with Honors from SUNY Fredonia and am now working for Hudson
Headwaters and pursing my MBA. I was hoping you would share my thanks with your members and know that the
scholarship I received went to great use and has put me in a place to grow and develop back in our local community.
It’s so easy to focus on where you are and not remember how you got there, and I couldn’t have gotten here without
your help! - Stephanie Willis, Scholarship Recipient 2012

Volunteers Needed
There are still opportunities to volunteer at QSC. We rely on our volunteers to write cards to 90+
members to thank them for their years with our organization. Our volunteers
also make birthday calls each month to our members, which they both love! Volunteers can teach a skill, i.e. card making, a craft, easy decorations or
even a cooking lesson. These types of activities can be done from the Center and via Zoom to reach people at home.
Interested in volunteering for QSC? Give us a call at 518-761-8224

A Few Light-Hearted
Reflections On 2020
The world has turned upside down, old folks are
sneaking out of the house and their kids are yelling
at them to stay indoors!
We were so bored we called Jake from State Farm
just to talk to someone!
The year when we hoped the weather would be
good enough for an exciting trip to the backyard.
Worst purchase of the year—a 2020 Planner
LOOKING FOR DONATIONS OF:
Gently used medium to large sized bas-
kets for our basket raffle
Single colorful socks for Snowman project
(by 1/15/21 please)
Basket filler or tissue paper
Thank you in advance for your help!
Coping During COVID
Fear and anxiety can be overwhelming dur-
ing this time of uncertainty. Here are a few
tips to support your health and wellness:
Take breaks from watching, reading or
listening to the news. Hearing repeatedly
about the pandemic can be upsetting.
Take care of your physical health - eat
healthy, exercise and get enough sleep.
Do something every day that you enjoy,
like reading, crafting or cooking.
Connect with family or friends via tele-
phone and let them know how you are
feeling.
Be sure to call your healthcare provider
if feelings of sadness or depression inter-
fere with daily activities.
A special thank you to
everyone who donated hats,
scarves, and mittens this
year. They are very appreci-
ated by the people that will
be using them to keep warm
this winter.
Library Book Request
The bookshelves in our library have a lot of
open space. You can help fill that space by
donating recent hard-cover books that you
no longer need, so that others can enjoy
them. This request is not related to a future
book sale – any books that you donate will
become part of the library’s collection. We’re
limiting this request to hard-cover books that
have a copyright date of 2017 or newer. If
you have some books that you’d like to do-
nate, please bring them to either Stephanie or
Michelle at QSC and confirm that they were
published in 2017 or later.
Your generosity will be appreciated.
